Camille’s VIRTUAL Memory Cafe --Oscar Winning Songs of the 1930's

Presenter: Vic Figurelli

The first song to win the Oscar for Best Original Song was “The Continental” in the film The Gay Divorcee made by Con Conrad (music); Herb Magidson (lyrics). The award began in 1934, but it wasn't until 1942 that a song actually won an Academy Award.
