PALs Place

PALs Place is a respite ministry for people in our community who are challenged by the complications of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. PALs Place meets every Monday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The only exception to that is a Monday when the church office is closed. Caregivers bring their loved ones to the McKinney Christian Ministry Center where they are offered conversation, activities, lunch, exercise, and entertainment. Applications for PALs Participants may be picked up in the church office. For more information, contact care@fumcgt.org or call the church office at 512-863-2370.

Special Friends Ministry meets each Thursday from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.  This weekly program is designed to provide a one-to-one friend and a day of activities, including lunch, to those dealing with various forms of dementia and provide a few hours of relief to caregivers.   Read their brochure here.  If you are interested in participating as a volunteer or if you have a loved one with dementia, please contact Cheryl White.

A Gift of Time Respite and Retreat
