Hello from Becky Folta-May, Executive Director

I found my passion for serving individuals with dementia and their caregivers when I had the opportunity to work as a Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A) at The Wesleyan at Scenic in Georgetown.   After receiving my BS in Health Professions with a major in Long Term Health Care Administration and becoming licensed as a Nursing Facility Administrator (LNFA), my husband Darren and I moved to Dallas where I began my professional career and became a new mom of two wonderful sons.

I spent the first half of my career working as a Human Resources and Risk Management Director for large, religiously affiliated not-for-profit continuing care retirement communities (CCRC) in the Dallas area.  I became certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and one of the first Certified Risk Managers (CRM) working in long-term care.

In 2007, I had the opportunity to move back to my hometown to open a new continuing-care retirement community with The Wesleyan at Estrella in Georgetown.   During that time, I also served on the Leading Age Texas Board of Directors.  At the end of 2019, I had the opportunity to use my LNFA license at a skilled nursing and assisted living community located in Austin not knowing that it was just months before the COVID pandemic would strike.

I joined A Gift of Time in June 2022. I’m looking forward to procuring new relationships, support, and funding for Georgetown’s first Adult Day Center and promoting Camille’s Memory Café.  An interesting fact: Less than 8% of seniors move into communal settings leaving millions of people relying on caregivers and their community resources.  It’s our mission to make a positive impact on the lives of those with mild to moderate memory loss, their caregivers, and the community at large.

2024 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

A Gift of Time’s Board of Directors are members from Georgetown, TX, and surrounding communities. The Board of Director members believe strongly in the mission of A Gift of Time because they were once caregivers of a loved that lived with dementia. Their experience heightens the need for an adult day program—a program they wished they had as an option to help them care for their loved ones and to keep them home longer.

Our dynamic Board members have accepted the challenge of making a lasting impact on the community. They understand that time and effort are important elements of the organization’s success. Our goal is to recruit additional individuals who are willing to work hard, create change, and drive results for our organization.
