Our History:
Georgetown does not have a full-time, licensed adult day center (ADC.) The need for an affordable ADC was identified by the Georgetown Aging Initiative study published in 2011. The City Council of Georgetown created the Commission on Aging Board (COA) to address the needs found in the study. Mayor Ross appointed Mrs. Josie Zamora to serve on the COA Board. It was during her time on the board that Mrs. Zamora discovered that the need for an adult dementia day center was continuing to grow with the increasing population of Georgetown seniors. After completing her term on the COA Board, collaborated with Mr. Steve Howard, a non-profit advisor from the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE,) and created A Gift of Time (AGOT). A Gift of Time is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.
