About the Event  

Speaker David Troxel, co-author of “The Best Friends Approach to Dementia Care,” will look at what the year ahead holds for people living with dementia and Alzheimer's. Knowledge about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias continues to expand at a rapid rate. In addition to promising research and medication developments, there’s growing evidence that healthy lifestyles may help delay the onset of dementia.    

Besides examining these trends, Troxel’s wide-ranging presentation will share recommendations for families currently caring for someone with dementia. There are ways to bring out the best in people with cognitive loss and reduce the stress and strain of caregiving.
