A Gift of Time Receives Moody Foundation Support
A Gift of Time is pleased to announce the receipt of a generous grant of $25,000 from the Moody Foundation in Galveston. The donation will support of A Gift of Times’ efforts to establish an adult day program in Georgetown. The donation will be applied to the building project’s capital fund and used to purchase medical equipment, fixtures, PPE and related supplies necessary to finish out the nurse’s office and resting area.
The Moody Foundation, based in Galveston, Texas, was established in 1942 with a Mission of Empowering Texas Communities to Thrive and Prosper. The Foundation focuses the majority of its funding on programs involving education, social services, children's needs, and community development.
Moody Foundation Regional Grant Manager Emily Greer learned about A Gift of Time through sources in the Austin area. She was inspired by A Gift of Time’s work and impressed by the organizational focus on caregivers and adults living with dementia. “The Moody Foundation wants to continue to support our Texas Communities in need as we navigate the COVID crisis together," she states.
A Gift of Time is a relative newcomer to the nonprofit community serving Georgetown and is committed to its Mission To make a positive impact on the lives of those with mild to moderate memory loss, their caregivers, and the community at large. Our focus is on opening an adult day program facility since launching in 2016. A Gift of Time is already serving caregivers, their loved ones, and the community by providing classes on dementia, support groups, and presentations by experts in the field of dementia and aging.
Josie Zamora, Founder and Executive Director of A Gift of Time adds this perspective: “We are deeply grateful to the Moody Foundation for their generous donation, and for their confidence in us as we continue to move closer to welcoming people needing an adult day program into our facility. We are blessed to have the Moody Foundation as a new partner.”
